Page 1 of 2 The ICJ Africa Access to Justice Initiative works toward this goal by:
- Working in partnership with non-governmental organizations at the local, national, regional and international levels to provide modest contributions to human rights litigation under the four themes.
- Using regional networks of non-governmental organizations to facilitate domestication of international human rights standards by sharing legal expertise through dissemination of cases, treaty law texts and other materials.
- Sharing international legal expertise by facilitating legal expert opinions for proposed and ongoing cases and developing model rules and legislation.
- Strengthening independent human rights advocacy, litigation, court monitoring and trial observation
- Conduct training to improve human rights litigation and determination skills
- Work toward the independence of national judiciaries as well as regional courts
