Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture

The overall objective of this action is to reduce the prevalence of torture through effective medical documentation and rehabilitation, advocacy, law and policy reform, research and capacity building of health care providers and lawyers. This is a project that will be implemented in partnership with the Independent Medico-Legal Unit (IMLU) for a period of 24 months beginning February 2009.  Some of the activities to be implemented by the project will include

  • To conduct a policy and legislative advocacy
  • To  conduct training of 200 health care and legal professionals
  • To conduct advocacy and awareness
  • To collect and package data to inform prevention and rehabilitation activities
  • Production of a case Digest
