Kathurima M'Inoti holds a Bachelor and Master of law degrees from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and currently the Chair of the Kenya Law Reform Commission. He is a former Chair of the ICJ-Kenya Chapter (1995-1999), a former partner in the law firm of Kamau Kuria & Kiraitu Advocates, Nairobi, where he specialised in constitutional litigation and a former lecturer in the Department of Public Law at the University of Nairobi (1990-993). He was elected a Commissioner of the International Commission of Jurists (Geneva) in November 2003.
