Dr. Githu Muigai is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and practiced law as a senior partner in the firm of Mohammed Muigai Advocates.  He is currently the Attorney General of Kenya.

He was a Senior Lecturer of Public Law at the University of Nairobi and a Commissioner with the Constitution of Kenya Review Commission. He is a former member of the Council of the Law Society of Kenya. He is a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Law Society of Kenya and a Director of the Institute of Education in Democracy. His areas of interest and research include International Human Rights and Humanitarian law, civil liberties, criminal law and Constitutional law.
